Request for volunteers in case of missing Horry Co. woman

Posted: Updated:

The CUE Center is asking for volunteers in the search for Heather Elvis, a 20-year-old Socastee woman who hasn't been seen since mid-December. Volunteers are needed for Friday, January 3, Saturday January 4, and half-day Sunday. Each day volunteers are asked to meet at 9 a.m. At the staging location which is Tidewater Road off of Highway 501.

You will be asked to sign-in each morning with the CUE center.

There will be ground support, ATVs and horse teams but they ask that no independent search teams go off on their own.

Volunteers are reminded to dress appropriately with boots, long pants and rain gear since weather can be unpredictable.

Food and water donations are requested at the staging location as well.
