Florida State: "One Team One Heartbeat" - WRBL

Florida State: "One Team One Heartbeat"

Posted: Updated:
PASADENA, Ca. - Thursday, Florida State Defensive Coordinator Jeremy Pruitt met with the media along with cornerback Lamarcus Joyner and linebacker Telvin Smith.

The Seminoles defensive players know they are going to play a big role in the BCS National Championship Game. With Auburn's seemingly unstoppable running game, they have their work cut out for them.

"They run the ball, and they don't break. They do what they do well," says Lamarcus Joyner.

Pruitt agrees, but says his team has what it takes as far as leadership, consistency, attention to detail, and ability.

"Whatever we ask them to do, they do it," says Pruitt.

Florida State also has a Heisman Trophy Winner playing as their quarterback. Jameis Winston won the award in December as the best player in the nation, and has had an outstanding year. But, has that over shadowed the team? Not according to the two players who spoke today.

"We are one team, one heartbeat," says Joyner.

That's how they will continue to practice these next few days, and that's how they will play on January 6th.
