Cold temperatures are prompting schools across the state to delay openings this week.

COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS

  • Blount County: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Calhoun County: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Clay County: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Cleburne County: Two-hour delay Wednesday
  • Coosa County: Delay until 10 a.m. Wednesday
  • Cullman County: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • Etowah County: Two hours late Wednesday
  • Jefferson County: Delay until 10 a.m. Wednesday
  • Marion County: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • St. Clair County: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Shelby County: 2 hour delay Wednesday
  • Talladega County: Two hour delay Wednesday
  • Tuscaloosa County: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • Walker County Schools: Delay 2 hours Wednesday

CITY SCHOOL DISTRICTS

  • Alabaster City Schools: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • Anniston City: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Attalla City: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Bessemer City: Delay Elementary and Middle until 10 a.m., High school until 10:30 a.m. C. F. Hard Elementary School will be closed for all staff and students for the entire week. 
  • Birmingham City: Delay 2 hours Wednesday; Parker High School, Huffman High School and Arrington Middle School closed Wednesday.
  • Boaz City: Three hour delay Wednesday
  • Jacksonville City: Two hours late Wednesday
  • Jasper City: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • Leeds City: Two hours late Wednesday
  • Oxford City: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Pell City: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Piedmont: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Tarrant City: Two hours late on Wednesday
  • Trussville City: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • Tuscaloosa City: Delayed 2 hours Wednesday

OTHER SCHOOLS

  • Adventure Nook Preschool (Inverness): Open at 10 a.m. Wednesday
  • Ephesus Academy: Delayed until 10am
  • Episcopal Day School (Gadsden): Delayed until 10 a.m., daycare opens at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday
  • Gadsden State Community College: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • Glen Iris Baptist School: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • Herzing University: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • Hillview Learning Center and Daycare (Birmingham): Opening at 8 a.m. Wednesday
  • Kiddie Kollege Preschool: Delayed until 10:30am Wednesday
  • New Hope Daycare: Open as normal at 6:30am
  • Olivet Monumental Baptist Church Daycare: Delayed until 10am Wednesday
  • Rock Creek Church of God Daycare (Bessemer): Daycare opens at 6:30 a.m., Kindergarten opens at 10 a.m. Wednesday
  • Sumiton Christian School: Delay until 10 a.m. Wednesday
  • Victory Christian School (Pell City): Delay 2 hours Wednesday
  • Westbrook Christian School: Delay 2 hours Wednesday
