Heather Elvis reward at $25,000 as story goes national

Heather Elvis, the 20-year-old from Socastee has been missing since mid-December and now the reward for information leading to her whereabouts is up to $25,000.

Search crews spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday searching the area near Tidewater Road. There were also volunteers set up in the parking lot of River City cafe near the Swing Bridge handing out flyers to passing motorists.

The Center for Missing Persons (CUE) sought volunteers to help with the search and also donations of water and food. Some volunteers came as far as Missouri and Florida.

Several K-9 units as well as people on horseback and ATVs searched looking for clues in her disappearance. Her car was found abandoned December 19 near Peachtree Landing along the Waccamaw River and nobody has talked to her since December 17. CLICK HERE for related story.

Monday night talk show host Nancy Grace will reportedly concentrate part of her show on Elvis' disappearance. There was an online petition at change.org urging HLN and "Nancy Grace" to feature her.
