Elderly woman dies in Columbus mobile home fire

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

A 62-year old woman died in a Thursday morning mobile home fire in Columbus, Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says.

Kathy Bohanon died in the fire at the Crystal Valley Mobile Home Park, located at 6020 Crystal Drive, the coroner says. Her companion was severely injured in the fire and airlifted to the hospital.

Responding emergency officials found the home fully engulfed in flames around 2 a.m., Fire Chief Ricky Shores says.
 
The fire remains under investigation.
