HENRY COUNTY, VA -

12:45 p.m. update:
State Police have released more information about a fatal crash in Henry County.

They say a 1995 Ford F-150 pickup was being chased by a North Carolina Sheriff's Deputy. The deputy stopped the chase at the NC/VA border. The driver of the pickup continued into Virginia, and was traveling north in the southbound lane of Route 220 when the truck struck a 2008 Dodge Caliber head-on.

Police say the driver of the Dodge was Jennifer Courtney Thomasson, age 28, of Ridgeway. They add that she was wearing a safety belt, but was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup also died at the crash site. The man driving the truck was not wearing a safety belt. The medical examiner's office is currently working to determine his identity.

2 people were killed in an overnight crash in Henry County. 

State police say the driver of the pickup was heading north in the southbound lane on Rt. 220 near Morehead Avenue, and hit a car head on.
The truck caught fire.

All five lanes of Rt. 220 north and southbound were shut down last night.... but all lanes have since reopened.
