New VA clinic soon to open in Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Veterans in Greenville have a new place to go for health care.
     
With a new year comes a major upgrade.

The old VA clinic is now closed. Come Monday, a new health care center opens just up the road on Moye Boulevard.
     
9 On Your Side got a peek at the last-minute work to make sure the place is stocked and ready to go.
     
Monday's soft open involves moving existing operations into the new space with more to follow in the future.

"We are going to expand on that with a number of specialty services, medical specialty and surgical specialty,” said Tom Delaney, VA Health Care Center administrator.

The new clinic will also house a pharmacy. The old one served 9,400 veterans, maxing it out.
     
The new center will eventually be able to serve more than 20,000.
