NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police arrested a couple who tried to steal their car out of a tow truck lot on Saturday.

Michael Turcotte, 26, and Leah Wilson-Crowson, 29, were spotted inside in the Tow Pro parking lot located at 2407 Lloyd Avenue in Nashville.

Witnesses told police that they saw a maroon Ford ramming a black sedan inside the lot.

The couple allegedly attempted to drive the towed car into the fence to get it out of the lot, but the car got stuck.

When police arrived, Turcotte was trying to hook chains to the black sedan and the Ford.

Both Turcotte and Wilson-Crowson fled the scene, but were arrested shortly after.

The couple said earlier that morning they were driving down Briley Parkway when Turcotte lost control and got stuck in the median.

Wilson-Crowson stated Tow Pro came by to pull the vehicle out of the median and charged them $145.  She then stated she didn't have the money to pay for that service and the vehicle was towed.
