Fort Benning main entrance to close for road work

Posted: Updated:
FORT BENNING, Ga. -

Fort Benning's main entrance will be closed Jan. 17-20 for maintenance.

Lane re-striping on I-185 near the access control point will require the inbound lanes to be closed from 3 p.m. Jan. 17 through 5 p.m. Jan. 20.

Motorists will still be able to leave the installation on I-185.

During the temporary closure of the I-185 ACP, all other access control points will maintain their regular hours.  Motorists can access the installation through access control points at Benning Road, 8th Division Road in Harmony Church and Eddy Bridge.

The temporary closure will take place over a holiday weekend to minimize disruption of traffic.
