NC reports first child flu fatality of 2013-14 season

Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. - An infant in eastern North Carolina died Monday from complications related to the flu.

This brings the total deaths in our state to 22.

State health officials aren't saying much about the death, but do say the child was too young to receive a flu vaccination.

State Health Director Robin Cummings says this tragedy should motivate people to get one and take precautions.

They'll announce more data this Thursday.
