Gov. Nathan Deal is set to outline his priorities and release key budget details during his annual State of the State address.
Wednesday's speech is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Capitol and will come in the middle of a very busy day for lawmakers. In the morning, lawmakers will gather for the annual "Eggs & Issues" event sponsored by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Deal, along with Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and House Speaker David Ralston will be previewing their legislative priorities.
After Deal's State of the State speech, state Sen. Jason Carter will be giving the Democratic response.
After that, lawmakers will convene for five hours of committee meetings on the budget featuring testimony from Deal, state schools Superintendent John Barge, University System Chancellor Hank Huckaby and others.
