U.S. Attorney announces guilty pleas in tanning spa prostitution case

Posted: Updated:
Four defendants in connection with a prostitution operation at a tanning salon in Macon, Georgia have entered guilty pleas in federal court.

In a news releases U.S. Attorney Michael J. Moore said Hyeon Chae, 45, of Atlanta, pleaded guilty to single counts of conspiracy to promote prostitution and conspiracy to commit money laundering; Kye Wol Dyreson, 72, of Kansas, entered a guilty plea to one count use of an interstate facility to promote, manage and carry on prostitution; and Jin Noh, 50, of Florida along with Ki Un Jordan, 51, of Atlanta, pleaded guilty to one count each of misprision of a felony. The pleas were entered before U.S. District Judge Marc Treadwell in Macon, Georgia.

As part of of their pleas of guilty, the defendants admitted that the establishment known Sedona Tanning, formerly known as Soft hands Massage, located at 1922 Riverside Drive in Macon operated as a prostitution business.

Federal authorities say the manager, Dyreson, would greet customers and ensure one of the female prostitutes would provide prostitution services.

The business would receive a "house fee", anywhere from $40 to $60 per customer which went to the owner, Ms. Chae.

"Prostitution is a crime which dehumanizes both of the parties involved. The prostitutes are victimized as they literally sell their bodies and souls for the profits of others. The prosecution of this form of human trafficking is a priority of my office and of the United States Department of Justice," said Moore.
