Opelika Police: One man in critical condition after accident

A man is in critical condition after an accident in Opelika.

It happened early Friday afternoon on Gateway Drive in front of the Lee County Justice Center.

Police say a car pulled out in front of a tractor-trailer from Hamilton Drive when the two vehicles collided.

Both lanes of Gateway Drive were blocked.

Two people in the car were injured. One man was flown to Midtown Medical Center where police say he is in intensive care in critical condition. The other man was taken to East Alabama Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was no injured.
