Keeping pets safe -- there's an app for that

Posted: Updated:
Pets are important for thousands of families across Alabama. That's why the American Red Cross has created an app to help keep your pets safe during emergencies.

The app, "Red Cross Pet First Aid App," helps pets owners provide care until medical assistance is available.

"Forty seven percent of households count a dog among their family members and forty six percent have a cat," according to Red Cross. "Users can easily toggle between "Dog" and "Cat" content. The cost of less than $1 per download is a small price to have expert pet safety information in the palm of your hand."

To download the app, search "Red Cross" in your app store.
