Mayor Eddie Lowe to address Troy grads

   Phenix City Mayor Eddie Lowe will be the keynote speaker at Troy University's graduation ceremony scheduled for Friday, January 24 at the Columbus Civic Center.  The ceremony will start at 7:00 p.m. and will be a joint commencement for Troy's Phenix City campus and Columbus/Fort Benning campus.  

   Lowe was elected the mayor of Phenix City in 2012.  He is the senior vice president of CB&T of East Alabama.  Lowe is a graduate of the University of Alabama where he played football under legendary coach Paul Bear Bryant.  He served for more than ten years on the Phenix City Board of Education.

    An Amber Alert has been canceled after 2-year old Maliah Harris was found safe in Georgia. Her 7-month-old sibling, Alyssa, was found dead and Maliah disappeared from a Mississippi home which prompted authorities to issue the alert. The girls parents, Donald Boyd Harris,34, and Allison Studdard, 31, are now in custody.
