Georgia Public Safety Training Center moves to new CSU home

Posted: Updated:
Columbus State University will hold an open house Thursday, January 23 at the new home of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center's Regional Academy.  The academy's new location is 3001 Macon Road.  The open house will be held at 2:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

The academy is one of eight in Georgia where police and jailers are trained to meet state standards.  They had outgrown their old location in an annex next to University Police Headquarters.

The academy's new location is a former Army Reserve training facility.  It triples the space for training from 3,000 square feet to 12,000.
