Reward offered in store clerk shooting

GREENVILLE, N.C. - A store clerk is recovering after he was shot in the leg during a hold-up Wednesday.

And Lenoir County Sheriff Chris Hill says he's offering $1,000 for credible information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for robbing The Filling Station store and shooting the clerk.

"My officers and I have tirelessly worked incoming leads since the inception of the event," Hill said. "We are now utilizing money to encourage anyone who may know the identity of these people and to step forward and provide needed information to close this case."

Deputies in Lenoir County are searching for three men they say robbed The Filling Station and shot an employee.
 
Sheriff Chris Hill says it happened around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. The employee, who is the son of the owner, was shot in the leg with a revolver during the incident and the injury does not appear to be life-threatening.

Hill says the business is located on Highway 11 just before you get to Deep Run. He says three men left in a blue Chevy Caprice. The car also has a Chevrolet logo on the back windows.
