Ms. Jamie Dyer of Sherwood Elementary School wins MEA Golden Apple Award

Posted: Updated:

This week's MEA Golden Apple Award winner was simply overwhelmed when we showed up to present her the honor.

News 3's went to Sherwood Elementary in Phenix City to recognize second grade teacher Jamie Dyer.

Dyer was nominated by several co-workers who told us it is a pleasure to have a fellow teacher who is so  dedicated.

Dyer was even responsible for helping  the school  secure a "partner in education" and is constantly looking for creative ways to motivate her students.

Ms. Dyer, a Troy University graduate, says it has been a  privilege to work at Sherwood the past 16-years and it is she who is truly blessed.

Congratulations again to teacher Jamie Dyer this week's MEA Federal Credit Union Golden Apple Award winner.

Anyone can nominate their teacher for a Golden Apple by filling out a nominating form on our website.

You can tune in to see if your favorite teacher has been selected every Wednesday on Evening Edition and Nightwatch during the school year.
