Chambers County plant re-opens; creates 120 jobs

LANETT, Ala. - Alabama Governor Robert Bentley helped Knauf Insulation re-open their 800,000 square foot facility in Lanett on Friday.

The plant employs 120 people.  The facility opened in 1988 and closed in June 2011, following the collapse of the residential construction market. During the spring of 2013, it was announced the plant would re-open.

Knauf Insulation is a manufacturer of building materials and construction systems. The Indiana-based company is the largest insulation plant in the Southeast. Knauf Insulation has over 5,000 employees in more than 35 countries and more than 30 manufacturing sites.
