AUBURN, Ala. -

Former Carver Tiger head coach and Auburn quality control analyst Dell McGee is headed to Georgia Southern University to be the Eagles' running backs coach.

McGee confirmed the move in a text message to News 3 Sports Director Jonathan Huskey Monday night.

Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton (@CoachTimHorton) tweeted, "Congrats to former Tiger Dell McGee on being hired as the running back coach at Georgia Southern! Excellent coach & man! #WarEagle #WDE"

McGee went 88-19 as head coach at Carver, winning the 2007 state championship.

Gus Malzahn will now have to replace two off of his support staff from 2013. Director of high school relations Al Pogue accepted a job as cornerbacks coach at Troy last week.
