At least 4 Greensboro firefighters hurt in blaze

GREENSBORO, N.C. -

Authorities in Greensboro say at least four firefighters have been hurt while trying to put out a blaze at an auto body repair shop.

Officials with the Greensboro Police Department say the received an initial report Thursday of a car fire. They said another alert indicated that the ceiling collapsed during the fire at Import Knight Body Repair on Elm Street.

Fire Chief Greg Grayson said Firefighter Matthew Clapp with Fire Station 7 was taken to Moses Cone Hospital after injuring his ankle. Officials also said Fire Captain Thomas Suddarath with Greensboro Fire Station 11 was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem for treatment of burns.

Two other firefighters were treated and released from the hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
