Mason St. arson suspect arrested in Phenix City

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Arson suspect Eric Lamar Person was arrested Friday afternoon in Phenix City by U.S. Marshals Office, according to Columbus Fire Marshal Ricky Shores.

The 25-year-old is charged with nine counts of aggravated assault, one count of arson and one count of terroristic threats in connection with a fire at 2062 Mason St. on January 17. A 6-year-old child was rescued from the home by first responders.

Person has been transported to the Russell County Jail where he will remain until he is extradited back to Muscogee County, GA.
