Fayetteville emergency crews battle house fire

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

The Fayetteville Fire Department battled a house fire on Lansdowne Drive Wednesday evening.

The department said a fire was reported around 6:30 p.m. at 450 Lansdowne Drive off Cliffdale Road. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and fire were visible coming from the attic and roof, the department said.

Crews were able to contain the flames while the home received moderate damage to the attic and roof, the fire department said.

No estimate was given on damage to the home.

No one was injured but five people were displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting those affected by the fire, the fire department said.
