Area players in spotlight on National Signing Day

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Many former stars on "Touchdown Friday" were in the spotlight on National Signing Day.

Havelock star Derrell Scott inked his national letter-of-intent with Tennessee as expected. Scott's teammate, Taylor Woods signed with James Madison.

Northside-Jacksonville's Josh Cabrera signed with North Carolina. JH Rose All-American Kentavius Street signed with North Carolina State, though he was reportedly ill and did not make his signing event.

Codie Purdie of New Bern and Drew Turnage of Ayden-Grifton both signed on with East Carolina.

Several other players signed with smaller programs.
