For the 10th year in a row, St. Francis is hosting its annual “Heart Truth for Women.” St. Francis joins this national awareness campaign to help change the staggering fact that heart disease is the number one killer of women.
According to a news release, “The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, at the St. Luke Ministry Center. This year’s event will feature internationally acclaimed speaker and accomplished Emmy nominated writer Tracey Conway. Tracey’s laugh-out-loud presentations have wowed everyone from national audiences to Oprah Winfrey.
The Emmy-winning actress was taping a television comedy show when she literally dropped dead from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Twenty minutes later, paramedics shocked her heart into beating again. Overcoming 20-to-1 odds, she survived and turned her miraculous recovery into a poignant yet laugh-out loud presentation.
Attendees are asked to wear red to the luncheon. The red dress is the national symbol for women and heart disease. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at www.wecareforlife.com or by calling 706-596-4070.”
