MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) - The Horry County Coroner's office released new information Monday regarding a skeletal remains case from December.
According to Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, the remains found off Tidewater Road in Myrtle Beach on December 28 are those of a white male between 35-60 years old.
The human remains were found by a man who was helping with the search for missing 20-year-old Heather Elvis.
Willard said the remains did not match any missing person in Horry County.
Willard hopes the release of images from the scene will help investigators identify the man.
Investigators found a sun-bleached, greenish-yellow pair of swim trucks and yellow and white metal chain and cross with "Spike's" engraved on the back,
According to Lt. Kegler with Horry County Police, it appears the remains were there for several years.
Major Crime detectives are investigating, Kegler said.
