RALEIGH, N.C. -

When "Late Night with Seth Meyers" premieresMonday night, WNCN viewers will see a familiar sight on the set.

A WNCN coffee mug will be featured on Meyers' desk as partof a new late night tradition. Each night, Meyers will have a different stations'mug on his desk.

The idea was born in Charlotte during a publicity tour forthe show when WNCN Marketing Director Robby Thomas brought along a WNCN mug asa gift for NBC's newest show host.

"I mentioned to Seth and his producer, Mike Shoemaker, that Jimmy Fallon's band, The Roots, always kicked off each show by shoutingout an area code," Thomas recalled. "That was a subtle way to includelocal communities in each episode and he could keep the tradition going byhaving different stations' mugs on his desk each night. He said it was a goodidea. I figured he was just being polite."

But Wednesday, WNCN learned it would be the first localaffiliate featured on the show -- earning a spot in the premiere episode fromStudio 8G in Rockefeller Center, New York, N.Y.

"Late Night with Seth Meyers" airs weeknights at12:35 a.m. beginning Feb. 24. The show's first guests include Amy Poehler, VicePresident Joe Biden and musical guest A Great Big World.
