Man in critical condition after Harnett Co. shooting

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. -

The Harnett County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting after deputies found a gunshot victim in a wooded area.

The sheriff's office received a call in reference to a gunshot victim. Deputies responded to a single family home at 356 Oakwater Dr.

Deputies discovered 31-year-old Jimmy Bell in a wooded area near the home where they believe he was shot. Bell was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he is currently listed in critical condition.

A person has come forward and claimed responsibility for the shooting.

The incident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
