Friday law enforcement returned to search for evidence in the Heather Elvis case at Peachtree Landing in Socastee.

Members of Horry County Police Department, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the South Carolina department of natural resources were on the scene.

Crews were out in full force with more than a dozen vehicles parked alongside the river; as well as boats circling 20 yards out from the shore and divers in the water.

Lieutenant Robert Kegler, with the Horry County Police Department, says crews performed a "forensic re-enactment" and searched for evidence during the day.

Kegler said the re-enactments would help show how and where possible evidence may have shifted in the waters of the Waccamaw River.

Kegler would not confirm if any evidence was discovered during the searches.

He also would not say if any new information or leads brought the search back to Peachtree Landing.

Kegler did say during the past two months of investigations, searches are performed based on information they gathered.

Kegler told News 13 he was uncertain if search crews would return to Peachtree Landing or if any other searches would occur during the weekend.

Elvis was reported missing on December 19, 2013 after police found her car located at the boat landing.

Sidney and Tammy Moorer were arrested last week and charged with murder and kidnapping Monday for their involvement in the case.
