GULF SHORES, Alabama -

Cell phone video captures flames tearing through a home in Gulf Shores early Saturday morning.

Diane and Allen Rice were inside their home on West 6th Avenue when they heard glass shattering and saw the blaze around 1:30 a.m.

"He was hollering saying the house was on fire. I thought he was joking. I opened the door to look down the hall and that's when I saw the big ball of fire it was coming from the living room," said Diane.

Luckily, they manage to escape unharmed. Their 4 dogs are also able to make it out of the home just in time.

Once everyone is safe and accounted for neighbors began taking photos and video of the fire, saying they've never seen anything like it before.

"It was really scary so I got the garden hose to wet down all of those sparks and there were quite a few sparks. You look up in the sky and it was like the 4th of July with all of those sparks flying through the air by the thousands," said Gerald Brown, who lives across the street.

The homeowners say they're in need of any donations you can provide. They lost everything in the fire including, clothes, credit cards, checks and other belongings.

If you can help the family you're asked to drop off donations to 200 West 6th Avenue in Gulf Shores.
