A Wet & Cold Fat Tuesday In Mobile

Posted: Updated:
MOBILE, Alabama -
It's Mardi Gras time in the Port City and thousands are packing the streets of downtown Mobile ready for a good time.
"Southern hospitality is fantastic. We had a great time last year so we came back this year," said a reveler from Atlanta.
Umbrellas, gloves and coat all neccessities on Fat Tuesday this year. The rain started falling before lunchtime and made for a rough start to a lot of parades.
"I've got my hat on, my poncho, a coat and a thing around my neck. I'm ready to go," said a reveler on MLK Avenue.
There may have been fewer crowds this year due to the weather, but all in all these revelers weren't going to let a little rain ruin Mardi Gras.
Wet trash litters the streets in downtown Mobile, but crews will work throughout the evening to clean up the roads before Wednesday morning.
