PELL CITY, AL - A death investigation is underway in St. Clair County after a body was discovered in a river near Funderberg Bend Road.

A boater spotted the body Wednesday afternoon along the shoreline in the yacht club area.

Authorities say the body is heavily decomposed.

The person’s identity has not yet been released.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
