CSU women win the Peach Belt Tournament

Posted: Updated:
The Columbus State Lady Cougars beat Georgia College 60-49 in Sunday’s Peach Belt Conference championship.

The Cougars came back after being down by five at halftime.  Three three pointers from Chatil Bradford helped lead the charge for CSU.

“This team has been so strong this season with getting back, not letting adversity hit us. And just keep fighting, I knew even going down by five at halftime, that meant nothing. We were still going to come back,” Bradford said.

“It feels great. It's been a long time coming, 13 years since we have done this here at CSU. These seniors have finally got us back where we think we belong,” said head coach Jonathan Norton.

“Next up for the Lady Cougars is the big dance. They will play North Georgia in the first round of the south regional. The Cougars lost to the Nighthawks in both of their match ups so far this season.
