LEXINGTON, Miss. -

A Mississippi man who woke up in a body bog after being pronounced dead two weeks ago has died, his nephew said Thursday.

Walter "Snowball" Williams passed away at his home Thursday around 2 a.m.

The 78-year-old somewhat famously woke up in a body bag of Feb. 26 after a coroner said he had no pulse and was officially pronounced dead.

"After they got through checking him, the coroner, they pronounced him dead and put him in a plastic bag, zipped him up and took him, put him in the hearse and they left," said Eddie Hester, Williams' nephew.

Two hours later, while some family was mourning and others were sleeping after an emotional day, they received a phone call saying Williams was moving.

"The mortician said something wasn't right," said Williams' daughter, Martha A. Lewis. "His leg started moving."

Workers at Porter and Sons Funeral Home were preparing to embalm Williams when he started to kick in the body bag.

"Seemed like he had more life in him again," Lewis said. "And then we had just stopped talking, and he told us 'what did you all stop talking for?' Hallelujah, thank you, Jesus!"

The coroner said he believed Williams' pacemaker stopped working, then started again.

On Thursday, Hester said he joked with the coroner, telling him, "Be sure this time."
