RALEIGH, N.C. -

Some Triangle veterans received a warm "thank you" Friday morning for serving our country.

The Quilts of Valor Foundation presented three veterans with homemade quilts. Crews with the organization said their mission is to match soldiers and quilts at every quilt show and at VA hospitals.

Retired National Guard Lt. Colonel Sean Moser proudly accepted his quilt. He said he'll likely display his quilt on his wall.

"I just think that it's wonderful what the people from Quilts of Valor do," he said. "Clearly these are heartfelt. These are a treasure and will be passed down for generations in my family.

"It's a wonderful treat and honor."

Just this week alone, 196 vets have received quilts across the country.
