Auburn students react to new head basketball coach

Posted: Updated:
Student's at Auburn University are weighing in on the new basketball coach, Bruce Pearl. New Three's Naomi Keitt caught up with students on campus this afternoon, just a couple of hours after the news broke. While some students hadn't heard the announcement, many students News Three spoke with were excited for a new beginning for the Auburn basketball program.

"He had a lot of success at Tennessee. I think they were sort of mediocre before he got there and so hopefully he can do the same for our program and revitalize it and get it back to where it should be," said sophomore John Weaver.

"It's exciting. I definitely think having a fresh  face and new ideas will help," said freshman Jacob French.

"I think it means it'll be just a little bit different for how we work, how we practice. I think he'll bring a new angle to it and probably help us out in the long run," said freshman Zachary Sellers.

Many students told us Tuesday that they would start attending more games this season.
