Students on a traditional calendar for the Wake County Public School System will be in school until Friday, June 13, the school system announced Wednesday.

The makeup day is the third added to the final week of school. Schools were originally scheduled to get out Tuesday, June 10, on the traditional calendar, but the relentless winter weather added three makeup days to the school year.

The students were out of school again on Tuesday because of icy conditions Tuesday morning on Wake County roads.

The other makeup days added in Wake County were Monday, Feb. 17, and Friday, March 28. Traditional students will not have their spring break interrupted.

The makeup day ahead for the modified-calendar schools is Monday, April 21. The new makeup day for the Leadership Academies and Early Colleges is Monday, June 2.

The new makeup days for the year-round schools are Saturday, March 29, for Track 1; Saturday, March 22, for Track 2; and Saturday, March 22, and Saturday, March 29, for both Track 4 and Single Track.
