HOPE MILLS, N.C. - Hundreds of volunteers came together Saturday morning to look for a missing 15-year-old girl from Hope Mills.

Danielle Locklear has been missing
since March 11.  Her family said it's been tough not knowing where she is but they are happy the community has come together in their time of need.

"I'm just overwhelmed," said Danielle's aunt Chena Papa.  "I am not surprised by the community because we are a tight knit community, but I was very overwhelmed. My family is extremely thankful."

The volunteers combed the area near South View High School in Hope Mills Saturday morning hoping to find something to lead them to the teen's whereabouts. Locklear was last seen at her home in the Fox Meadow subdivision.  Investigators said Locklear told family members she was going to a friend's home up the street but she never made it there.

"There's no way she would have just gone off," said Papa. Her family has been on an emotional roller coaster since the girl they said was happy and loved her family vanished, Papa said.

"We are mad, sad, angry, confused, restless most of all," she said.  "We can't sleep but we are still holding on to hope. We know that she's out there somewhere and hopefully we find a clue today."

Potential clues were marked with orange flags during the search. Volunteer and family friend Jacqui Slay hopes their findings help bring Locklear home.

"This is not something that should happen to any 15 year old," she said.  "She's a young, beautiful girl with her whole life ahead of her."

As the hunt for clues and answers continue, Papa said the family will keep searching until they get answers.

If you have any information concerning Locklear's whereabouts, please contact the Hope Mills Police Department at (910) 425-4103 or the FBI in Charlotte at (704) 672-6100.
