Restaurant Ratings: Most Violations March 17-21

Ever wonder what goes on in the kitchen of your favorite restaurants?

We’ve gathered details about the Tampa Bay restaurants that received the most violations during inspections conducted from March 17 to 21, 2014.

The restaurant with the highest number of violations was the Saigon Bay Vietnamese Restaurant with 45 violations.

At some other restaurants, inspectors say they found bugs, dead roaches and rodent activity.

Each restaurant is shown in the slideshow above. The total number of violations the restaurant received is shown in the plate on the left side of the slide. Some details from the inspection report are listed below the slide.

  • Fresh Point Country Buffet, 12880 U.S. Highway 301, Dade City
  • Sony's Real Pit BBQ, 5324 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Wesley Chapel
  • Green Tea, 11832 U.S. Highway 19, Port Richey
  • New Tung Tung Chinese Restaurant, 10829 N. 56th St., Temple Terrace
  • The Breakfast Nook, 1532 Land O' Lakes, Lutz

  • Deeya Indian Cuisine, 2779 Gulf to Bay Blvd., Clearwater
  • Iavarone's Restaurant, 3617 W. Humphrey St. Tampa
  • Francesco's Family Restaurant, 14418 7th St., Dade City
  • Brandon Italian Express Pizza, 9017 E. Adamo Dr., Tampa
  • Gator Buffet, 6310 SR 54, New Port Richey
  • Jimmy’s Fish House & Iguana Bar, 521 S. Gulfview Blvd., Clearwater Beach
  • Reececliff Restaurant, 940 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland
  • Ichiban Sushi, 10710 SR 54, Trinity
  • Cajun Cafe & Grill, 27001 U.S. Hwy 19, Clearwater
Inspectors from Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation conducted the inspections. The department cited violations of Florida's sanitation and safety laws, which are based on the standards of U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Food Code.

While most establishments correct all violations in a timely manner (often during the inspection), the division's procedures are designed to compel compliance with all violations through follow-up visits, administration action or closure when necessary, according to the Florida DBPR website.
