LaGrange Waffle House barricaded suspect arrested

COLUMBUS, Ga. - An armed man has been arrested after barricading himself inside a LaGrange Waffle House restroom for over six hours early Tuesday.

Around 3:10a et Tuesday, the Troup County Sheriff's Office was called to the Waffle House, located at 4560 Hamilton Road, after an armed man refused to leave the restaurant's restroom. The man had been there since around 1a.

Responding deputies began a conversation with William Madison Cahall, who he was carrying a weapon and refused to surrender himself. The LaGrange Police Department was brought in to assist and negotiators and members of the police department's Emergency Response Unit continued negotiations for several hours. At 8:42a, authorities entered the restroom and took the man into custody without incident.

Cahall, 36, of Woodstock, Georgia, was charged with Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act

Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon, Felony Obstruction of officers and Criminal Trespass. Cahall is currently in the Troup County Jail awaiting a bond hearing. More charges are expected.
