Original Story:
Two people have been arrested and authorities are searching for two others after they spent much of Thursday searching the woods in Troup County for a man wanted for murder. News 3 has learned that the 23 year old murder suspect Thomas Starkey was not in the vehicle that lead authorities on a car and foot chase. Troup county officials got word Thursday morning that Starkey was in the area in a Gold Lexus.

When authorities attempted to stop the vehicle Thursday morning, it fled. At one point, the four jumped out of the vehicle near Kia Boulevard and fled on foot. Two were arrested, according to Stewart Smith of the Troup County Sheriff's Department. Authorities wrapped up the search for the other two suspects a little before 2p et. West Point Police Chief J. K. Cato says neither one of the two currently in custody are Starkey.

Vanassa Yoon of LaGrange and James Forrest McMillan were taken into custody. They face charges of possession of meth with intent to distribute. The third passenger will face the same charges. The driver will face the drugs charges along with fleeing and attempting to elude officers.

Law enforcement is searching for the two other occupants of the vehicle. A description of those individuals was not immediately available.

Multiple agencies are assisting with the searching including the Troup County Sheriff's Department, West Point Police, Lanett Police, US Marshals, Lanett Drug Task Force and LaGrange Police. Canine units are also assisting in the search.

Starkey has a warrant out for his arrest regarding the murder. Lanett Police Chief Angie Spates told News 3 the murder of Griggs may have stemmed from a dispute over a possible theft.

Lanett police announced Wednesday they were also interested in talking with two other individuals. Paul Teague and Jacob Shaddix were wanted for questioning but had not yet been located or charged
