Police arrest man in connection with Columbus church vandalism cases

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Columbus police have arrested James Morris, 25, in connection with the South Columbus church vandalism cases last weekend.

Six South Columbus churches suffered damage from large rocks that were thrown through glass windows or doors. All the pastors arrived at their churches before services Sunday morning to find the damage.

The following churches were hit:
  • Twelve Disciples Baptist Church
  • Mount Pleasant Baptist Church
  • Macedonia Baptist Church
  • Crown of Glory Outreach Ministries
  • New Life House of Prayer Ministries
  • Carver Heights Presbyterian Church

Morris is being held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail. He has a hearing Monday at 9 a.m. in Recorder’s Court.
