Hospice veterans get wishes granted through "Hospice Heroes" program

Posted: Updated:
People from around the Chattahoochee Valley spent the afternoon at the Harley-Davidson dealership to support the inaugural "honor project."
The honor project helps hospice veterans live out their last dream. Saturday's fundraiser helped fulfill some of those final wishes like having a meal with a loved one or visiting a spouses gravesite.

"My mom wanted to die at home and that was something that we could do for her with hospice was let her die with dignity and she would still get the care from hospice that we were not able to provide," said organizer Suzie Ray.

There were several vendors selling goods to raise money for the program and also homemade cards.
People could write personalized notes to soldiers overseas who normally wouldn't get letters.
Founders are hoping to make the program a staple in the community.
