First on 3: Authorities investigate homicide in Russell Co.

Posted: Updated:
SALEM, Ala. - A Salem woman is behind bars Tuesday night accused of killing her boyfriend. News 3 was there as 34 year old Belinda Williams was transported to the Russell County Jail Tuesday afternoon. News 3's Naomi Keitt talked to investigators about the arrest. Authorities are calling the homicide a domestic situation. Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor says 34 Williams got into a fight with her boyfriend, 32 year old Anterio Wynn on Saturday.

Sheriff Taylor says the argument stared when Wynn accused her of having another boyfriend. Taylor says Williams confessed to shooting Wynn at least once in the back, in the bedroom of his home on Lamb road in Salem. Authories say Williams then attacked him several times with a 10 pound dumbbell weight. After the murder, officials say she drove to a pound in Seale to dispose of the gun. Sheriff Taylor says his deputies learned of the situation Tuesday around 6:00 pm.

"He had not been heard from for several days so a friend of his went to check on him. That is how the body was discovered," said Sheriff Taylor.

Officials say the couple dated on and off for at least a year and Taylor says they were both living at the Lamb home up until a couple weeks ago when Williams moved out. Williams remains in the Russell County Jail without bond. Her first court hearing is Wednesday.
