Murray looks healthy, impresses at pro day

ATHENS, Ga. -

By all accounts, Aaron Murray was quite impressive in his showing at Georgia’s Pro Day on Wednesday.

He completed 48 of 54 passes in a 45-minute throwing session with fellow Georgia receivers. The school actually moved the date of their pro day back almost a month to give Murray more time to recover from November surgery on a torn ACL.

“I thought everything went very well,” he said. “I had a great quarterbacks coach who worked extremely hard with me these last three weeks [to make sure] I look good today, with all my movement, all my throws. I think it went great, I’m very happy. It was a good day.”

Murray couldn’t change his height, still measuring at just over six feet tall, but he knew this was his shot to show NFL bigwigs that he was worthy of a draft pick.

“This is my one shot,” he said. “I knew I had to make the most of it, and I knew I had a lot to prove when it comes to my ability to make all the throws, demonstrate I’m healthy, and I think I proved both of those things today. I think it was a great day, and I’m excited for what’s going to happen the next three weeks.”

The 2014 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, May 8.
