Columbus electricity restored after brief power outage

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Electricity has been restored after a power outage caused a brief power outage for at least 2,500 Georgia Power customers Wednesday afternoon.

An equipment malfunction inside a substation caused an outage in north Columbus around 4p et, a company spokesperson confirms to WRBL News 3. A crew nearby was quickly able to fix the problem and restore full power.

The outage also affected electricity to traffic lights in the area during the outage.
