TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

We have good news for those of you who've been following the story of Hope, the Arcadia dog that was doused with kerosene and lit on fire.

Hope is scheduled to be released from 24-hour care on Tuesday.

The 1-year-old mixed breed won the hearts of News Channel 8 viewers and Facebook followers shortly after we shared our first story about her. We've been providing you with updates about Hope's progress ever since (see photos in accompanying slideshow).

Hope's former owner, Larry Wallace, 66, is charged with arson and animal cruelty in connection with the abuse.

BluePearl BluePearl Veterinary in Tampa has been caring for Hope since a short time after she was burned on March 20. She required treatments every hour. BluePearl provides care for animal trauma cases.

Hope will be released to members of the Hardee Animal Rescue Team on Tuesday. She will receive daily treatments at the Hardee Animal Clinic and will return to BluePearl for periodic treatments.

The Hardee Animal Rescue Team has been raising money to pay for Hope's care. As of the afternoon of Monday, April 28, they've raised $56,444. People from across the U.S. have also been sending gifts for Hope.
