BIRMINGHAM, AL - Representatives for Uptown Entertainment District announced today that the district is now at 100% occupancy.  Owners of the final shop called Bottle and Bone, signed a lease agreement in the downtown area adjacent to the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex.

Bottle & Bone is owned and operated by Jen Barnett.  She was most recently associated with Freshfully Market in the Avondale community.  The butcher, wine and beer shop will have an emphasis on local, organic meats and local beers.  Bottle & Bone will also offer some prepared sides, sandwiches and other items for eat-in or takeout.

“At fully leased occupancy, this is a celebrated milestone for Uptown. Every party involved in the district’s planning, construction, development and leasing have collectively strived to ensure this a destination visitors will enjoy and locals can take pride in,” said Tad Snider,  Executive Director of the BJCC. “We are thrilled that our final lease agreement has been made with a unique, Birmingham-specific tenant.”

“We are very excited to welcome Jen Barnett’s Bottle & Bone to the Uptown family and reach the 100% occupancy milestone. I’m certain this new and final addition will add to the dynamic of the new Uptown Entertainment District, giving all of us another reason to come early and stay late in Downtown Birmingham,” said Mayor William Bell.

“I’m extremely grateful to the BJCC for the opportunity to bring my passion for local food and beverages to Uptown,” said Jen Barnett. “My goal has always been to make local food more accessible to more people. Uptown is drawing customers from across Birmingham, and my farmers and I are so excited to be a part of it.”

Bottle & Bone will open at Uptown this fall.
