Four escape Greenville house fire

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Four adults escaped a Greenville house fire safely early Thursday morning.

Greenville Fire-Rescue officials say the house fire started just before 1:00 a.m. at 1107 Cortland Rd.

Officials say the four adults in the home were not aware that the roof had caught on fire, but they were able to get out safely.

The house sustained extensive damage to the roof area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
