Police looking for suspects in firearm theft

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Greenville Police are looking for two suspects in a firearms larceny.

On Sunday, May 4th detectives got a call from a resident at 3220 S. Evans Street in reference to a break-in. The victim had just returned from a trip and found that someone had entered the home through a back door. Two pistols and a guitar were missing from the home.

Two people were seen attempting to sell the stolen items on May 3rd. 2014 at the Trade-It in Greenville.

The male suspect is positively identified as Jonathan Willis Denton, 35. Denton hasn’t been located but has active warrants for breaking and entering, felony larceny and injury to personal property in reference to the break-in.

Denton also has known charges in Pennsylvania, including trespassing and probation violation.

The female suspect hasn’t been positively identified but may go by the first name “Heather.” Both suspects were seen leaving the Trade-It on Greenville Blvd. in a dark-colored Audi.

The Greenville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in this case. Anyone with information about either of the suspects is asked to call the Greenville Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit (252)-329-4156 OR Pitt-Greenville Crimestoppers (252) 758-7777.
